Mandatory Segments 2023
It will not be easy, but it will be worth it. When designing the mandatory segments, we focused on leading riders to extraordinary places in Slovakia. These segments will test your determination and physical ability. As a reward, you will enjoy views of the High Tatras from three different perspectives. The segments must be completed in the order listed below. You choose your own route between them. We wish everyone on two wheels clear skies and good visibility.

#START
The opening kilometres are neutral and lead through a popular recreational area of Bratislava. Riders will not encounter traffic until Borinka. The first climbs follow favourite roads among local cyclists. The real race begins in Stupava, where everyone rides independently and chooses their own path.
#Čičmany Parkour
The village of Čičmany, famous for its folk architecture, crowns a scenic ride through the Strážov Mountains. The gradients are gentle, traffic is light, and the tarmac is good. Nature here will reward you generously.
#Gubałówka Parkour
Gubałówka above Zakopane is a tourist hotspot. You might be tempted to grab a souvenir, but the real treasure here is the spectacular view of the High Tatras from the Polish side. Enjoy the panorama, get a coffee and pastry, and take a breath before continuing.
#Kojšovská Hoľa Parkour
Just as cyclists in Bratislava know Biely Kríž, riders from Košice know Kojšovská hoľa. After more than 500 km, this climb will hurt. Smooth tarmac for most of the ascent and quiet roads make the summit reward even sweeter.
Before the surface deteriorates near the top, do not miss the next breathtaking view of the High Tatras.
#Čierny Váh Parkour
The climb from Svarín will bite tired legs hard. However, the panoramic view at the Čierny Váh pumped-storage plant makes every metre worth it. You will see the High Tatras, Hybe, Východná, and Liptovská Mara below.
It is one of the most spectacular and unique locations in Slovakia.
#Balog – Hriňová Parkour
The climb to Lom nad Rimavicou will feel like a long fight. When the slope eases, prepare for another sting before the true summit. From there, Bratislava is no longer impossibly far and finishing becomes real and emotional.
This is the moment many riders realise they are going to make it.
